Compilation of Mariners’ prospects list

Keith Law of ESPN came out today with his Mariners’ Top 10 prospects list, with Taijuan Walker at the top. Walker and Mike Zunino have fluctuated as the Mariners’ No. 1 prospect on various lists, followed in some order by Danny Hultzen, James Paxton and Nick Franklin.

Here’s Law’s overall assessment of the Mariners:

The Mariners still have starting pitching on the way, maybe not quite as potent a group as it appeared to have a year ago, but still enough that they’re looking at a rotation surplus in the near term. Their first pick in 2012, catcher Mike Zunino, tore the cover off the ball in his pro debut, finishing in Double-A, and even if we discard those as small samples, on draft day he looked like someone who could move quickly to become a big-league regular.

Law believes Danny Hultzen is first in line to compete for a rotation job among the Big Three andBrandon Maurer, and that Zunino and Franklin should reach the majors at some point this year. He lists 18-year-old righty Victor Sanchez as the Mariners’ sleeper, with Brazilian lefty Luiz Goharaas their sleeper on the 2015 list.

Jeff Evans of the Mariners helpfully compiled all the prospects list, which not surprisingly have most of the same names, with a few surprises here and there. Here they are, starting with Law’s list from ESPN. MLB.com’s Mariner Top 10 should be released soon.
