Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

One thing we’ll try to do here is update the depth chart as often as possible. This is admittedly tricky because UW hasn’t announced an official one yet and probably won’t until the week before the opening game against San Jose State. Also, after yesterday, chances to view practice and figure out ourselves will be almost non-existent. From now on, only the first 25 minutes of practice are open, a time that generally consists of conditioning and little else.
But this is our attempt to put one together based on what the coaches have said and what we saw yesterday.

A few comments:
— Ashlee Palmer will undoubtedly move up quickly at free safety once he’s eligible
— Likewise, Aaron Mason will probably move fast into the depth at LT once he’s eligible.
— There seemed to be some surprise yesterday about the news of Michael Gottlieb. But if you recall, Tyrone Willingham announced that at the end of the spring so I don’t think it’s just a motivatonal ploy, as someone surmised. Gottlieb simply does a lot of things right that the coaches want done, particularly in the run game. Also, the Huskies will often be in two tight-end sets, so a ll three of the main TEs, including Johnie Kirton, will get their share of time.
— With Ryan Perkins out, Michael Book becomes the backup punter, as well as the backup kicker.
