Thursday update

Tyrone Willingham’s daily meeting with the press broke up just a short while ago and there was again no real big news.
The biggest is that the knee sprain to DT Jordan Reffett appears minor. Willingham said Reffett will be out only a week or so.
There is nothing new on the four players still awaiting academic clearance to play.
As was reported yesterday, Willingham has started a new ritual of letting the players of the day from the previous practice wear a gold No. 1 jersey in practice the following day.
Today’s wearers of the jersey are Dan Howell for special teams and Greyson Gunheim for defense — each winners for the second day in a row — and receiver Quintin Daniels for offense.
For Daniels, it signifies that he may be ready to again be a contributor to the team after missing all of last season while rehabbing a knee injury suffered in 2004.
