The latest news and analysis on the Montlake Dawgs.

Friday evening update

Again, no real big news from the afternoon session as coach Tyrone Willingham said there were no new injuries. The team practiced in helmets and shoulder pads (shells) for both sessions Friday, and Willingham said the second session was an upgrade from Thursday afternoon’s workout, which he had called somewhat sluggish.
“The tempo was better,” he said.
The most significant injury news involved DT Jordan White-Frisbee, whom Willingham said had a “flareup” in his right foot on which he has had two recent surgeries.
White-Frisbee sat out practice Friday and wore a boot as a precaution and Willingham indicated it wouldn’t be a serious setback. “It’s to be expected, I think, as he increases his workload,” Willingham said.
During the afternoon practice, the Huskies unveiled their new “Cool Zone” fans that they will use to keep players refreshed on game days. In the past, the Huskies have rented the fans for games. But they now have their own, appropriately painted in purple and white.
If you’re interested, I’ll be talking Husky football with Dick Fain on KJR-AM Saturday at 1:50 p.m.
