Depth chart out

It’s Monday of game week, which means the Huskies have to release an official depth chart — they haven’t released an offficial one since the end of last spring.
And there is one big change, with Scott White being listed as a starter at one linebacker spot. But not ahead of Dan Howell, who had taken his place, but ahead of Chris Stevens and E.J. Savannah. This has been rumored about once or twice, but there was never evidence of this in the practices that the media saw. We’ll surely ask about this at today.
Other interesting notes are Donny Mateaki and Jordan Reffett listed as co-starteres at one DT spot, and all three tight ends listed as co-starters. I think that mostly shows that those are positions where all the players will rotate quite a bit.
Another interesting name on the two-deep is true freshman guard Ryan Tolar. But I’m still not sure that mean’s he’s guaranteed to play right away as I think they would use Casey Bulyca first as the backup at either guard spot, if needed.
The only other true frosh on the depth chart is fullback Paul Homer. As we noted here Thursday, he appeared to be the up back on the No. 1 punt team, so he may be playing no matter what as a special teamer.
The only other kind-of surprise is Anthony Russo and Corey Williams listed as the starting receivers with Sonny Shackelford a backup. But I think that’s mostly semantics as all those receivers will rotate quite a bit.
Otherwise, the depth chart is pretty much how we thought it was all along.
And the best news for UW fans may be that all the injured players — Greyson Gunheim, C.J. Wallace, Dashon Goldson, Jason Wells — are listed as starters or co-starters, meaning they are expected to play.
