Checking the opponent

As we really noted the other day, there’s really only one place to go for San Jose State news this week, and that’s the San Jose News Mercurcy.
Here’s where to go for today’s update on the Spartans:

Most interesting may be the item about cornerback Devin Newsome portraying Isaish Stanback in practice all week. Newsome says that he’s been told Stanback is “not a great thrower.” That’s sure to get around the Washington locker room.
(Personal aside – I once was in a baseball fantasy league run by the author of this story, Laurence Miedema, and was on track to win it until the strike of 1994 scuttled everything).
We’ll have more here later from this afternoon’s practice.
