Almost here

Kickoff is almost here, even if most of the fans aren’t.
Speculation that this could be the smallest Husky crowed in 20 years or more looks like it’s quickly turning to fact.
Here are a few other game-related observtations as kickoff nears:
For many obvious reasons, the Huskies would like to get off to a quick start today. Here’s another one — if the Huskies can get ahead comfortably, they may be able to keep much of their new-look offense in the bag and save it for next week’s game at Oklahoma. But if they struggle, they may have to dip deeper into their playbook than they’d like.
The Huskies had a couple of defensive spots listed as either/ors on the two-deep this week. But as the team goes through pre-game drills, those positions seem settled. Donny Mateaki is working as the DT with the first team ahead of Jordan Reffett and Matt Fountaine is the cornerback opposite Roy Lewis.
Dashon Goldson, however, is taking part in the pre-game work an indication he may see some action today.
And at the tight end spot, Michael Gottlieb was officially announced as the starter, though all three at the position figure to play a lot.
One last note – the game captains for today are Isaiah Stanback, Stanley Daniels, Kenny James and C.J. Wallace. The Huskies do not name captains for the season until after the year is over but name four captains for each game.
