Tomey talks

So I’ve got DirectTV for the first time and I was flipping through the thousands of channels tonight when I came across an unbelievable sight — “The Dick Tomey Show.”
Who knew?
Anyway, I didn’t see all of it, but I saw enough to hear Tomey say at the end that he thinks Stanford is better than Washington.
Since San Jose State plays Stanford this week — and likely every year for the rest of time — while SJS and UW aren’t scheduled to play again anytime soon, this is likely just the usual coaches’ pablum of buttering up the next opponent.
Still, that he was willing to go on record to say a Stanford team that just lost 48-10 to Oregon is better than the Huskies has to say something. He did qualify it by saying UW is improved, but he left no doubt he thinks the Cardinal is better.
Tomey also said he thought his team lost the game by losing the special teams battle and the run game on both sides of the ball.
Either way, it’ll certainly be interesting to see how SJS plays Stanford this week. Maybe the Spartans really are improved. Or, shudder the thought, maybe not.
