Turner says he’s not worried

University of Washington athletic director Todd Turner said he isn’t worried that the Oklahoma Sooners won’t show up here for their game against the Huskies in 2008 despite a report out of Oklahoma that the Sooners might consider canceling their visit if the Pac-10 does not change its current officiating policy.
As part of a seven-year old conference policy, Pac-10 schools are required to use Pac-10 officials for non-conference home games. Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, upset over two calls that went against his team at the end of Saturday’s game at Oregon, said Tuesday he might want his team not to make the trip to UW in 2008.
But Turner said he has not gotten any official request from Oklahoma officials to call off the game and has not heard from anyone at the Pac-10 Conference.
“It’s not an issue for Washington right now,” Turner said. “I expect they’ll be back in 2008.”
Conference officials said their policy was implemented in 1999 after the NCAA abolished the use of split-conference crews for non-conference games.
