Tracking the numbers

So now that we know exactly who is in and out on this year’s team, let’s look at how the roster numbers shape up by position (scholarship players only).
Isaiah Stanback, Sr.
Carl Bonnell, Jr.
Johnny Durocher, Jr.
Jake Locker, Fr.
Comment: UW already has a commitment from a high school quarterback, Ronnie Fouch.
Kenny James, Sr.
Shelton Sampson, Sr.
Louis Rankin, Jr.
Michael Houston, Soph.
J.R.Hasty, RFr.
Comment: Hasty’s return solidifies the future of this position, but the Huskies need to bring in another RB or two. UW did just get a commitment from Nate Williams of Kennedy to help here. Houston and Hasty are each ineligible this year.
Mark Palaita, Sr.
Luke Kravitz, Soph.
Paul Homer, Fr.
Comment: Another FB is needed.
Sonny Shackelford, Sr.
Quintin Daniels, Sr. (but a junior eligibility wise)
Marcel Reece, Jr.
Corey Williams, Jr.
Anthony Russo, Jr.
Cody Ellis, Jr.
Marlon Wood, Jr.
D’Andre Goodwin, Fr.
Comment: Assuming Daniels returns, UW is fairly well set here for 2007.
Robert Lewis, Jr. (5)
Johnie Kirton, So.
Michael Gottlieb, So.
Walter Winter, So.
Tim Williams, RFr.
Comment: Maybe the best long-term position on the team as UW already has a commitment from Lake Washington’s Chris Izbicki, who might be the top high school player in the state this year.
Stanley Daniels, Sr.
Clay Walker, Sr.
Chad Macklin, Jr.
Juan Garcia, Jr.
William Kava, Jr.
Aaron Mason, Jr.
Ryan Bush, So.
Jordan White-Frisbee, So.
Casey Bulyca, So.
Ben Ossai, RFr.
Morgan Rosborough, RFr.
Ryan Tolar, Fr.
Cody Habben, Fr.
Matt Sedillo, Fr.
Comment: The depth here is finally starting to return. UW already has two commitments from high school players.
Brandon Ala, Sr.
Donny Mateaki, Sr.
Greyson Gunheim, Jr.
Caesar Rayford, Jr.
Wilson Afoa, Jr.
Jordan Reffett, Jr.
Erick Lobos, Jr.
Anthony Atkins, Jr.
Jovon O’Connor, So.
Darrion Jones, So.
Daniel Te’o-Neshiem, RFr.
Derek Kosub, Fr.
Cameron Elisara, Fr.
De’Shon Matthews, Fr.
Comment: Another spot where UW looks fairly solid for 2007.
Tahj Bomar, Sr.
Scott White, Sr.
Dan Howell, Jr.
Kyle Trew, Jr.
Trenton Tuiasosopo, So.
Chris Stevens, So.
E.J. Savannah, RFr.
Donald Butler, Fr.
Matt Houston, Fr.
Comment: More good young depth here as well. UW has a commitment from Quinton Richardson of O’Dea.
Dashon Goldson, Sr.
Matt Fountaine, Sr.
C.J. Wallace, Sr.
Josh Okoebor, Sr.
Darrin Harris, Jr.
Roy Lewis, Jr.
Jordan Murchison, Jr.
Chris Hemphill, Jr.
Durrell Moss, Jr.
Jason Wells, So.
Mesphin Forrester, So.
Matt Mosley, Fr.
Comment: Depending on what happens with Ashlee Palmer, this is a spot where the Huskies may need to get some immediate help next season. UW has a commitment from Vonzell McDowell of Rainier Beach.
Sean Douglas, Sr.
Michael Braunstein, Jr.
Ryan Perkins, Rfr.
Danny Morovick, RFr.
Comment: If Perkins, out this year with a knee injury, gets healthy, he could replace Sean Douglas. But UW may seek another punter.
There are also 25 walk-ons for a total roster of 103
Scholarship players by class:
Seniors: 16 (not including Q. Daniels)
Juniors: 28
Sophomores: 14
Redshirt freshmen: 8
Freshmen: 12
