Stevens gets start

Maybe there was something to Scott White wearing red all week.
The senior linebacker wore the red jersey for an injury that Tyrone Willingham never did specify during the week, saying only that White was expected to play.
When the game began, sophomore Chris Stevens was starting at linebacker. But White came in for the nickel defense on third down.
A few quick other notes:
• It’s quickly evident that Arizona wants to come out passing tonight and test UW’s secondary.
• UW’s game captains were PK Michael Braunstein, WR Sonny Shackelford, OG Clay Walker and CB Roy Lewis.
• After not getting a waiver for the game to be shown on live TV, Washington officials decided to show it on a closed-circuit basis at Edmundson Pavilion using the scoreboard feed from Arizona Stadium. Unofficially, there were roughly 4,000 people in the arena shortly before kickoff.
• Arizona entered the game as one five teams in the country that has already played two top 10 teams.
• UW basketball coach Lorenzo Romar made the trip and watched the game with athletic director Todd Turner.
• There are representatives of the Emerald Bowl here.
