Locker decision to wait

Knowing how Tyrone Willingham handles these matters, there was really no reason to think he’d suddenly say today that Jake Locker will or won’t play this season.
And Willingham lived up to his rep, saying today that he can’t say what he might do Saturday.
“I hate to be as noncommittal, but that’s what the circumstances right now dictate,” he said. “Until things start to really unfold and we see where things are, I won’t be able to say or do anything really definitively until that time.”
Willingham said both backup QBs — Locker and Johnny DuRocher — have done “a good job” in practice this week and that nothing has happened in practice to change his mind about where the QB position stands.
However, for the second straight day, during the portion of practice open to the media, Locker was the next quarterback after Bonnell to take snaps.
— On other matters, he said Dashon Goldson will definitely play Saturday despite being limited in practice with a sprained ankle. Goldson worked as a first-team cornerback opposite Roy Lewis during the portion of practice open to the media.
— He said safety C.J. Wallace, who bruised a knee earlier in the week, is fine.
— He said the team won’t have a walk-through at Cal Friday.
— The team practiced indoors today.
