A most auspicious beginning

UW couldn’t have asked for a better start except for this — running back Kenny James has sprained his right ankle and is unlikely to return.
But on the field, it’s all going UW’s way. Carl Bonnell looks solid, and the defense is playing some of its best ball of the season. Right now, UW has 75 yards to Cal’s 29, and the Bears have three possessions and three punts.
For Dominic – yes, Nate Longshore looks really bad. He’s 2-8 and has just flat missed about four passes to open receivers.
