Friday’s picks

After another 4-1 week, I’m 36-9 for the season. Only three games not involving UW on the docket this week, so here we go:
USC 41, OSU 24 — I’d be tempted to pick Oregon State if Yvenson Bernard were completely healthy and USC weren’t coming off a bye, which means the Trojans are healthy. But timing is everything, and I think teams facing USC now will see a better team than those the the last month saw with so many guys hobbling.
WSU 31, UCLA 28 — One of the toughest games of the season to pick as these appear as two fairly evenly matched teams, especially with the Bruins at home. But Cougars might have gotten over the hump with their win over Oregon while UCLA could be deflated after the collapse at Notre Dame.
Oregon 51, Portland State 13 — An easy one for the Ducks, who should have a week to get healthy, mentally and physically, before hosting UW next week.
As always, we’ll break down the UW game a little later.
Also, want to make sure you saw our story today on Jim Lambright being inducted into the Husky Hall of Fame this weekend. In talking with him the other day about this, it is obvious that this means an awful lot to him. As Brock Huard told me, it is somewhat fitting Lambright never took another job after he was fired at UW since it ensured that he would always be known as only a Husky.
