Locker not ruled out

UW coach Tyrone Willingham made the somewhat surprising announcement at his news conference today that there is still a chance that Jake Locker could play this season.
UW offensive coordinator Tim Lappano said after Saturday’s game that Locker would definitely redshirt this season. But he is listed No. 3 on the depth chart this week and Willingham said there are scenarios where Locker could play.
That raises a lot of questions I’ll try to answer later.
Still, it seems unlikely he will play this season. Carl Bonnell said he will be ready to return to practice Tuesday and he is listed as the starter for this week’s game, with Johnny DuRocher listed as the backup.
Also, safety Jason Wells is definitely out this week with a knee injury, though he could return in a week or two. And Willingham said Kenny James will try to play this week.
