Akey new Idaho coach

Idaho has hired Washington State defensive coordinator Robb Akey as its new head coach. The Spokesman-Review has details here.
Akey was considered one of the better defensive coordinators in the Pac-10 and viewed in some circles as a possible successor to Bill Doba someday, so this is a move that could have some major ramifications for WSU both in the short and long terms.
Given what happened with Dennis Erickson, you have to think Akey gave some assurances he will stay a while.
Possible he takes a couple of WSU assistants across the border with him, as well.
