Sorry Pac-10

It’s looking like the Pac-10 was as bad as a lot of people thought it was as the conference is getting crushed in bowl games like a Joel Pineiro fast ball.
The latest setback was UCLA’s 44-27 loss to Florida State Wednesday night as the Seminoles said a big “never mind” to all that talk of the Bruins’ revived defense.
Turns out all Jeff Bowden needed to look good as an offensive coordinator was facing a Pac-10 defense. FSU had scored more than 24 points only four times all season, but those came against Rice, Duke, Virginia and Western Michigan.
So the Pac-10 is now 0-3 in bowl games and if I’ve done my math right, it’s been outscored 123-69 (allowing an average of 41 points a game) while also allowing 1,661 yards, an average of 553.
Now it’s up to Cal, which needs to beat Texas A&Min the Holiday Bowl Thursday night or the Pac-10 will be assured a losing bowl season.
