Bonnell sidelined for now

Promise I’ll get the Jake Locker stuff up soon.
For now, want to point you to our story today about Carl Bonnell having had recent shoulder surgery showing there was more damage than anticipated.
Bonnell is likely to be unable to do much for at least two months, which means he could be limited when spring football begins in April. And that means Locker could be the No. 1 guy going into spring, which would seem to make it that much more likely he’d be the number one guy next fall.
When I talked with Locker yesterday, he said he anticipated Bonnell being ready for the spring and the two competing for the job then.
“We both understand that it’s football and we are both playing the same position and fighting for the same job,” he said. “We understand that and we are both cool with it. I really have a lot of respect for Carl and he’s helped me out a lot and I learned a lot from him last year when he was starting. We will be able to help each other out no matter which they go (with the starting decision). We’ll be okay with that.”
