Persley’s a Dawg

The Huskies added another player this weekend, getting a commitment from cornerback Marquis Persley from Redlands East Valley High in Redlands, Calif.
That’s the same school as Ronnie Fouch, a quarterback who has also committed to UW.
Here’s a scouting profile of Persley which lists him as a defensive back.
When I talked with him today, however, he said “they recruited me to be a cornerback.”
So that gives UW three in the Class of 2007, joining Byron Davenport and Vonzell McDowell.
Persley also visited Wyoming but committed to UW while on his official visit this weekend. Among other things, he said he liked the fact Microsoft is in the area because he’s interested in being a computer science major.
UW now has 27 commits for this class, but remember that at least three are expected to enroll in time for spring ball and can count back against the Class of 2006.
