Press conference notes

Just back from Tyrone Willingham’s signing day press conference and he seemed pleased with a class that he called “deep” on several occassions.
‘It’s a good class, a deep class,” he said, adding that there may not be that one player who is out in front of all the rest “but there are a lot of good football players.”
A few quick notes:
— Willingham said he expected no additions to the class, meaning, apparently, that they will not get Shane Horton.
— Willingham said Emeka Iweka will start out on the defensive line, the only position change from those that have been listed. He also said Marquis Persley will be a cornerback, as had been reported.
— Michael Houston has been reinstated to work out with the team, though his official status as suspended hasn’t changed, Willingham said, until his legal situation is resolved.
— Carl Bonnell’s status remains uncertain for spring ball.
— Willingham said there were no other changes to the current roster and no other injuries of note.
— Spring ball starts April 9, a little later than past years but as a concession to Easter falling on April 8, Willingham said.
