Williams on rebound

I wrote today about what has been one of the best stories of camp — the revival of senior receiver Corey Williams.
I detail a lot of the history in the story, so I won’t do it all again here. But he feels he may finally be back to where he was before he got hurt in 2004 at Notre Dame.
That could be a huge development for the Huskies as Williams is undeniably talented — a coach at a rival Pac-10 school told me once that Williams was the No. 1 receiver on their board in the recruiting class of 2003.
Williams says the return to full health, and being able to lift weights again to the level he was before breaking his wrist, is a big key to his resurgence.
It also sounds as if he has bonded pretty quickly with new receivers coach Charlie Baggett.
Williams said Baggett makes the receivers put in writing the things they have learned in practice each day, or the things they have to work on, and that allows Williams to go home each night “and practice those things in my head.”
“It just seems like he has a lot of confidence in me,” Williams said. “He tells me that he sees me doing great things and he whispers those things here and there like ‘you are doing good’ or ‘you just need to do this.’ He just knows that I can do it, that’s the feeling I get from him. It’s a different type of aura that he gives off that definitely helps my confidence.”
