Gee, maybe it’s Idaho

After giving some pub to the Lindy’s preview magazine, which just hit the shelves this week, figured I’d see if there was anything yet from Athlon’s, one of the other staples of the business.
Didn’t find it at the stores yet (apparently it will hit newstands next week), but did find Athlon’s website which includes its pre-season ranking from No. 25 to No. 2.
As you can see, there are three Pac-10 teams on the list — Cal at No. 11, UCLA at 15 and Oregon State at 22.
I understand Athlon’s released this ranking one-by-one over a few weeks or so. Still, it struck me kind of funny when I stumbled onto it today that it will “reveal” its No. 1 pick on June 1.
Seeing as how USC isn’t on the list, it’s got to be the Trojans —- or else Athlon’s is making a more bizarre selection than when Sanjaya heads to the hair salon.
So that would, obviously, put four Pac-10 teams on the list. In all, there will be six UW opponents in those rankings, with Hawaii at No. 19 and Ohio State at 12.
