Biggest win of Willingham era

The Huskies held on thanks to some big defensive plays down the stretch — and who would have though that heading into this one?
And now they have gotten what is the biggest win of the Tyrone Willingham era. Not that there is much to choose from, really. But this is the first win over a ranked team, the first time UW has started 2-0 since 2001, and now sets up a huge week of hype for a visit from Ohio State.
There are still lots of questions about this team — the offense was oddly stagnant the final three quarters save for a few big plays and the defense still has to prove itself against a really good QB (Taylor Tharp wasn’t that).
On the other hand, eight days ago anyone would have taken a 2-0 record and outscoring the two foes by 66-22.
Also looks like UW again escaped without any major injuries other than Byron Davenport rehurting his hamstring though we’ll check on that to make sure.
So a very positive day for the Dawgs.
I’ll have lots more later.
