Some ticket information

I’ve gotten some e-mails wondering about the ticket breakdown for this week after so much was made of how many fans Boise State brought last Saturday.
So here are some numbers, courtesy of the UW Sports Information Department.
The Huskies have sold roughly 43,330 season tickets to the general public (last year’s total was 42,598). For this week, there are about another 5,000 to students. There are about another 3,000 “other” season tickets (tickets given to players, the band, athletic department staff, etc.).
Ohio State’s allotment was 3,850 (Boise State sold 5,892), while there have also been about 16,000 single-game tickets sold.
Add that up, and it’s about 71,000 tickets (all are round numbers, give or take a few either way), so the attendance should be greater than it was last week.
But since there remain some “obstructed view” tickets and also seats that continue to be sold as part of season-ticket packages, the game is not a sell out and likely won’t officially be classified as such. Basically, there is almost always a seat available somewhere if you really want to buy it.
UW officials expect that Ohio State fans bought some of the single-game tickets, either themselves or through travel agency packages, etc., but they aren’t expecting as many Buckeye fans as there were Boise State fans last week.
