Thursday night links

There is an awful lot being written about this game this week so I’ll pass along a few more things I’ve found.
— Here’s an AP story theorizing that the beginning of the end for the Huskies was its loss at Ohio State in 2003. You could make that case. You could also say it was the Sun Bowl loss the year before, or the loss to UCLA a couple weeks later, or the 54-7 loss at Cal later that season. There are a lot of different turning points. But no doubt that there was little doubt that night in Columbus that there was a big difference in the talent levels of the two teams.
— Here’s a review of Ohio State’s offensive problems so far.
Doug Lesmerises of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer has some good analysis of the game, then asks for some help making his pick (For the record, I’ll make my pick tomorrow).
— Former Ohio State athletic director Andy Geiger will serve as an honorary captain for the Buckeyes Saturday. As this story details, he retired to the Seattle area and one of his two adopted sons is a student manager for the Huskies (something I had no clue about).
Nich Daschel of the Vancouver Columbian writes that UW football can get back in the spotlight by beating Ohio State Saturday.
Jon Wilner of the San Jose Mercury News leads off his Pac-10 Notebook with his thoughts on the Huskies.
All for now.
