Get right to it.
— I wrote today about UW”s rushing attack and the overreliance the last two games on Jake Locker to supply it. As UW offensive coordinator Tim Lappano says in the article, they have to start getting some consistent running from a tailback. Unfortunately, the “new” Louis Rankin of the Syracuse game hasn’t really been there the last two weeks.
— From LA, Karl Dorrell called Saturday’s loss to Utah “a complete team effort.”And there’s a not-so-glowing assessment of the Huskies at the bottom of this story, as well, saying “there is no reason to believe” UW is any different this season than a year ago. Amazing how the tide turns so quickly. A week ago, UW was the darling of the nation. Now, the Huskies are no better than the 5-7 team of last year.
— Dorrell also said the Bruins will “reevaluate everything” in the wake of the Utah loss.
— Bruins Nation.com wants all the blame for the loss placed on Dorrell. Considering this site used to be named FireKarlDorrell.com, hard to believe they’d take such a stand.
— The Oregonian’s Pac-10 notebook also weighs in on UCLA.
— In the Alumni Report department, Reggie Williams had a key TD grab for the Jaguars Sunday after having been on the inactive list last week. Isaiah Stanback, however, was again inactive, so he’s still waiting to make his official debut.
