Wednesday morning links

I wrote today about the news that the Huskies may go with more of a tailback rotation this week which obviously means fewer carries for Louis Rankin, who says he’d actually like more than he’s been getting.
Also today is a story by our Bud Withers about USC’s Sedrick Ellis and the challenge he will pose on Saturday.
Here’s a link to the USC page from the LA Daily News which includes the news that LB Brian Cushing is expected to be out three games. Scott Wolf’s USC blog covers some of the same territory, as well as also providing some quotes Tyrone Willingham gave the LA media in his conference call the other day.
The LA Times profiles USC tight end Fred Davis, who had a breakout game against Washington State Saturday.
The Times’ USC blog has some interesting stuff from Pete Carroll talking about his thoughts on the situation at Oklahoma State.
Here’s an AP story with more on Carroll’s thoughts on Locker.
In fact, you can find the complete transcript to Carroll’s press conference yesterday right here.
Today is defensive day at UW, so check back later for coverage from Montlake.
It is also, however, the first day of classes, which can be kind of chaotic. That’s something the UW coaches are a little concerned about as it tends to be a little distracting to the players.
