Uniforms and Gellermann

Getting my first look at the UW’s uniforms for today and it definitely looks like Notre Dame out there.
Hopefully for UW fans the Huskies play a lot better than that.
Let me know what you think, but remember, the whole idea is to honor the 1960 team — this isn’t some major fashion statement.
Also just talked to Lou Gellermann (yes, there’s two n’s in his last name) and he said he has been “overwhelmed” and “humbled” by the response he has gotten to his retirement announcement earlier this week.
He also confirmed that he is leaving for no other reason than what was stated in the press release — that he can no longer hear well enough to do the job.
There are two spotters in the announcer’s booth who call out yardage and who made the catch or run, or who made the tackle, etc., and Gellermann said he can simply no longer hear them well enough.
“I was making too many mistakes,” he said.
So he’ll say his “Hello, Dawg fans” for one last time in a little while and then walk away, handing over the microphone to Eric Radovich.
Gellermann, who is 71, said he doesn’t know what he will do for the rest of the game but he has an offer to watch it in the athletic director’s box with Todd Turner.
Gellermann remains employed as a park ranger on Vashon Island.
