The morning after

— Here are our stories today: The game story; notebook leading off with Jake Locker; a column from Steve Kelley on UW blowing a chance to beat the No. 1 team; a column from Bud Withers surmising that USC sure didn’t look like the No. 1 team; and a sidebar on all the big plays that kept UW close.
— A lot of harsh reviews on USC’s play Saturday. The LA Daily News called USC’s performance “disgraceful”. The Daily News also offers a story on USC’s banged-up offensive line and cites that lack of continuity as the reason for a lot of those penalties.
Scott Wolf’s blog also says that John David Booty might have played the worst game of his career It also says Booty had trouble handling the wet ball and that C.J. Gable sat out due to an injury.
— The LA Times called it “Flag Day” at Husky Stadiium LA Times columnist Bill Plaschke said that for one of the few times during the Pete Carroll era, the Trojans looked unprepared. The LA Times also examines all the injuries USC suffered Saturday.
— Finally, the LA Times USC blog says the Trojans answered a lot of questions badly Saturday.
