Carroll on UW

Tuesday is the day for the weekly Pac-10 coaches teleconference.
USC’s Pete Carroll was just on and was asked his thoughts on how his team played last week. Here’s what he said:
“We just weren’t very sharp throwing it and catching it. We just were off a little bit. Some of the guys did fine. Fred Davis and Patrick Turner did real well but other guys struggled a little bit. We just didn’t handle the bal real well. Had some deflections, an overthrow for a turnover. Just uncharacteristic.”
Asked how much of that had to do with Washington, Carroll said: “I would like to not take anything away from them. But we were off. When you have nine offensive penalties at the line of scrimmage and holding, that has nothing to do with the other guys. It might have something to do with the environment, but nothing to do with the other team. We totally did that to ourselves. So we were playing the Trojans the other day and we were pretty tough on us.”
