Thursday practice notes

Interesting-looking practice today.
With the bye week, six of UW’s coaches are out on the road recruiting — all but Tyrone Willingham, Kent Baer and Tim Lappano.
So to make it work, the team is being split in halves — linemen practicing in one session, skill position players and linebackers and secondary in another. And guys like student coach Sean Douglas, who is back in school finishing his degree, are helping conduct practice.
There was a lot of work on fundamentals in the portion we were able to watch, receivers going through specialized pass-catching drills, stuff like that.
The team was in full pads, as it has been for all three practices this week, with the young players expected to scrimmage heavily at the end. (The practice was indoors, as all have apparently been this week, as well).
All looked as expected personnel-wise.
