Ranking the Pac

Here are my updated Pac-10 rankings:
, Cal — But after this weekend, Cal will finish with four of its last six on the road, and maybe ruing that it agreed to move its game with UW from this weekend to Nov. 17.
, Oregon — Ducks have three of next four at home, with the only road trip to UW on Oct. 20.
, Arizona State — They just keep winning, even if their offense doesn’t seem as good as expected. Speaking of ASU, here’s the Monday morning wrapup on the Devils from the Arizona Republic with some thoughts on how the team’s problems protecting the quarterback.
, USC — From No. 1 in the nation to middle of the Pac-10. But it’s become evident this team was a bit overrated and has some definite issues. Health is also a concern.
, Oregon State — Remember, I’m basing these ratings on where I think they are this week, and the Beavers move ahead of UCLA despite the loss two weeks ago based on the fact that OSU seems in a better position right now given the Bruins’ QB situation.
, Washington — That close-shave against USC doesn’t look as impressive right now, and the next two weeks loom really large for the future of not only this team, but maybe the program Tyrone Willingham is trying to build here.
, UCLA — Ben Olson is having an MRI today which could determine the fate of UCLA’s season.
, Stanford — A team definitely on the rise. The Cardinal has played tough all year despite some of the scores in its games. Obviously, no one can pencil them in as a sure win anymore.
, Arizona — One step forward, two steps back may be the theme of the Mike Stoops regime.
, Washington State — Cougs looked better Saturday, but now comes a trip to Eugene to play an Oregon team fresh off a bye and also steaming from an upset a year ago in Pullman.
