In Tempe

Here in Tempe, and back at the hotel after taking in the NLCS game tonight —- there were thousands of tickets available during the week so we bought a couple and went.
It was warm out but not too humid and if it’s like this Saturday night I’m not sure the heat will be a huge factor for UW.
Here’s our game preview which touches on the high stakes of the game today for UW.
Here’s the Arizona Republic’s game preview which focuses on ASU’s main objective tonight — to contain Jake Locker.

And here’s the Arizona Republic’s scouting report which gives all the edges to the home team and calls for a 31-17 victory for the Sun Devils.
To respond to a couple of comments:
— Yes, it should be that UW would need to win five of its last seven if it loses today and not five of six, not that that changes the importance of today’s game in any way.
— I pointed out in my story today the difference in the schedules the two teams have played to date and I do think that’s something that could favor UW today. Still, I think the way ASU beat Colorado and Oregon State, each pretty decent teams overall, has to be taken into consideration, as does its demolition of Stanford.
