Wednesday practice notes

The team was indeed in full pads for what is a very wet practice at Husky Stadium today. This is the hardest rain I think I’ve seen out here all season.
To expand on a couple of things from Tyrone Willingham earlier today, here is his full quote when asked about any possible fingerpointing:
“I think it would be called frustration, that people want to be successful and are working hard and sometimes when you are working hard and don’t see the fruits of your labor, you get a little upset, a little angry. When I get upset, I say things. That might surprise you, but I say things.”
Asked if that meant the team’s leaders were handling it well, he said “well is when you win. I don’t see it bubbling up, but for me well is winning. That’s the result of everything we do. If we do it well, we win.”
Willingham also gave an interesting response when asked about Todd Turner’s comments this week that the Huskies are running up against teams that are “fast, big and strong and talented.”
Willingham said that “I would always love to be associated with young people that in the eyes and view of the world are overachievers.”
Asked if that gave the implication that he is going into battle with a talent disadvantage he said “my implication is that I would always like to be associated with young men that are overachievers.”
