Practice report

After three weeks of practicing in full pads on Tuesday, the Huskies were taking it a little easier this week, going in shorts and shells.
The reason could be that a few Huskies were banged up after the Stanford win and what was apparently a pretty rugged week of practicing leading up to it. It’s also the 10th week of what is the longest regular season in school history and it only makes sense to vary things a bit.
There were 11 players in gold jerseys honoring their play last week — Ryan Tolar, Cody Habben, Jay Angotti, Mesphin Forrester, Paul Homer, Darin Harris, Jake Locker, Jordan Reffett, Greyson Gunheim, Louis Rankin and Michael Gottlieb.
Nobody was in red with Nate Williams apparently the only real concern among players expected to play this week. Donald Butler was not in uniform and still limping around quite a bit walking on the sidelines.
ALSO, here’s an interesting story out of Stanford where receiver Richard Sherman has been suspended for his behavior during the UW game.
— I drew some criticism for placing UW at No. 8 in my Pac-10 rankings this week. Jon Wilner has them a spot higher in his rankings for the San Jose Mercury News.
