Beavers reshuffle line

The news about Oregon State’s quarterback situation kind of overshadowed the fact that Beavers coach Mike Riley also announced a drastic reshuffling of the team’s offensive line this week.
Here are some details from the Corvallis Gazette-Times about what the Beavers plan to do up front, as well as from the Oregonian.
As you can see, the upshot essentially is that it gets junior Jeremy Perry, an All-Pac-10 First-Teamer last year who has been out since the opener with a broken bone in his leg, back in the lineup and takes out redshirt freshman Ryan Pohl at left tackle, who evidently struggled last week against USC when the Beavers gave up nine sacks, and puts a couple other guys back in their more familiar positions.
A few of us just talked to UW defensive tackle Jordan Reffett and he said the Huskies have little doubt about what Oregon State plans to do this week with a revamped line, the return of RB Yvenson Bernard and the loss of starting QB Sean Canfield.
“All signs point to they are going to try to run the football,” Reffett said. “It’s going to be a big, physical game.”
The Beavers have won that battle against UW the last couple of years, with Bernard rushing for 144 yards last season and 122 in 2005.
