Lappano on the last series

Here’s what UW offensive coordinator Tim Lappano said after the game about the last series, specifically the final two plays, when UW threw the ball on third-and-two and fourth-and-two from the OSU 29.
“Coulda, woulda, shoulda,” he said. “I wish I would have run it now on third-and-two. We were in five (a position set) when that happened and I don’t think we threw an incompletion in that set so we were trying to just get a quick one and get a first down.
“On the last play, they gambled and they won. We had two guys open for touchdowns. Their corners cheated and tried to drive on the quick outs and he (Carl Bonnell) was just trying to get the first down and look inside they went back to inside leverage on us and he was just trying to pin it in there and they made the play on it. So that was tough. But on third down, I wish I would have run the football. I wish I would have done that.”
The third-down play was an incomplete pass down the sideline to Corey Williams. The fourth-down play was a quick out to Anthony Russo that OSU’s Keenan Lewis defended on. Russo was apparently shaken up on that play.
