Practice report

Jake Locker was not out at practice today, instead apparently inside working with trainers on his injured neck.
So Carl Bonnell was working as the starting QB and was also one of seven UW players honored with a gold jersey for their play against Oregon State. The others were linebackers Trenton Tuiasosopo and Chris Stevens, defensive linemen Jordan Reffett, Greyson Gunheim and Daniel Te’o-Nesheim and receiver Anthony Russo.
Russo appeared to be favoring a shoulder and the team was testing out Brandon Johnson and Louis Rankin as punt returners during the early portion of practice.
Donald Butler, out the last three games with a knee injury, didn’t appear to be doing much so he’s likely still out, but safety Nate Williams was running around pretty good indicating he may return this week after missing last week with a knee injury.
OREGON STATE AD UPSET: Also, here’s an interesting story on Oregon State athletic director Bob DeCarolis expressing his anger with how the Pac-10 handled the game Saturday and how it has reacted since.
I’ll vouch for DeCarolis saying a riot might have erupted had OSU lost. I had one of those big plastic coffee mugs go whizzing over my head and onto the field as I was standing on the sidelined during UW’s last series of the game.
This is one of those “only-in-the-Pac-10” kind of games that has left everybody unhappy, it appears.
