Lappano says QB will be gametime decision

UW offensive coordinator Tim Lappano was interviewed on KJR-AM earlier tonight following Washington’s practice and said Jake Locker took a few snaps and looked good enough that it is a legitimate thought that he could start Saturday against Cal.
Lappano said picking a starter “will be a wait and see deal all the way to gametime.”
Lappano said Locker took a few snaps in practice — which was no-pads — and threw a few passes and looked the best he has all week. He said Locker was beginning to get back most, if not all, of the range-of-motion in his neck and at one point said he was “back to Jake.”
Still, he said Carl Bonnell took most of the snaps today as he has done all week, and that is usually the biggest indicator of who will play on Saturday. But Locker’s recovery figures to mean that he could at least be the backup and would prevent the chance that Ronnie Fouch might have to play. Lappano indicated on KJR that Fouch didn’t take a lot of reps today.
But sounds as if everybody may just have to wait until kickoff to know for sure who will be the QB Saturday.
Lappano also said that Curtis Shaw and D’Andre Goodwin had had good weeks of practice and he was excited to see them play Saturday.
BTW — Watching the Oregon game as I type this. Amazing the difference the loss of Dennis Dixon has made in that offense. His Heisman chances may be out the window now but in some ways seeing how valuable he was to that offense almost makes you think he deserves it more.
