A few quick links

I’ll pass along a few quick links while throwing out the thought that USC not only reclaimed the mantle as the best team in the Pac-10 for this year last night, but also heading into next season. Quite the performance by the again-healthy Trojans:
Jerry Brewer looks at last year’s Apple Cup and how one game can boost a coach’s fortunes.
— I wrote about the fact that UW’s Byron Davenport was actually a commit to WSU for a week or so last year before changing his mind.
— Our notebook leads off with Corey Williams saying he has a new-found appreciation for his role in Apple Cup history.
— Here’s our quick look today at a little Apple Cup history.
— Bud Withers’ column today examines the fate of over-60 coaches.
— Bud also picks UW to win tomorrow.
— Here’s a feature on Jordan Reffett from the Vancouver Columbian.
— The AP has a story on the heat coming off Willingham a bit.
— The UW-Hawaii game next week is now officially a sellout.
— Speaking of Hawaii, here’s a story on the school’s attempts to crack down on unruly fan behavior, a topic that has come up here a few times.
All for now.
