Spring bashes scuttled by NCAA

I wrote four weeks ago today about a proposal Washington considered to beef up its spring game weekend.
Sounds like it’s a good thing the Huskies didn’t alter their schedule to fit this in as the Gridiron Bashes that were scheduled at other schools have been postponed due to what USA Today says are “concerns over an NCAA interpretation of athletes’ involvement.”
Here’s the USA Today story detailing the problems with the bashes.
UW had considered hosting one of these events, which would have meant holding the spring game April 19. Instead, the game will be held April 26.
