Reece-Raiders update

Sounds like Marcel Reece had a lot better ending to his tryout with the Raiders than beginning.
The Contra Costa Times Raiders blog reports today that Reece was one of two players attending Oakland’s rookie mini-camp awarded with a helmet for being the team’s “best effort guys.”
The Sacramento Bee Raiders blog also leads off with a mention of Reece’s award and also notes that he played some running back and tight end during his three days with the Raiders. There are also some highlights of Reece included. Sounds as if he may have done enough to get signed — he was there on simply a tryout basis.
Former Huskies Louis Rankin and Greyson Gunheim also attended the camp. Rankin is mentioned in the first blog for missing a block that led to a fumble. He’s mentioned in the second as having a style that fits the team’s schemes well.
