Wednesday links

A little late today, delayed by our participation in National Walk-to-School Day. ….
— For my story today, I tried to answer the question about how the Huskies got so young this year. The cliff’s notes answer — they didn’t recruit very well in 2005 and 2006, and there isn’t much left in the holdover class of 2004.
— Columnist Bud Withers chipped in with some of his own thoughts on what has gone wrong, pointing to the schedule and that same class of 2006, which looks like a real missed opportunity in not putting together a lot of good players around Jake Locker.
Steve Kelley wrote today that in a perfect world, Jim Mora would be coaching the Huskies, Jim Zorn the Seahawks.
— Withers also has these Pac-10 notes today leading off with an item on Rick Neuheisel’s return to Autzen Stadium.
— Rivals.com looks at Lane Kiffin’s coaching prospects and mentions that UW could be an option. Also a note in there on Dave Christensen and that he will certainly be interested in the Husky job. The author writes that while UW figures to come after Gary Pinkel, he may just recommend Christensen, instead.
— SI.com rates UW 99th this week and says an 0-8 start looks in the offing.
Ted Miller has these links around the Pac-10.
— UW is No. 2 this week in ESPN’s bottom 10.
And thanks for all the questions. I’ll start getting some answers up later today.
All for now.
