Willingham notes

It’s raining, it’s pouring, but the Dempsey Indoor is snoring.
Because while the weather might be frightful, the Huskies will practice outside today at Husky Stadium.
UW went inside last week on Thursday when the weather was also problematic.
But Thursday is usually a lighter day with a lot of special teams work while Wednesday is a heavy hitting day and coaches here traditionally have preferred to stay outside on Wednesday as much as possible, especially if the team is at home that weekend.
“It’s just the nature of the week, where we were (in the week), all those things factored in,” said UW coach Tyrone Willingham of the decision to stay outside.
Willingham said his reports are that the weather should be pretty good for Saturday, partly cloudy but maybe not too wet.
In other news. …
— Willingham said safety Darin Harris will not play again. He has not played or practiced since suffering a concussion against BYU in the second game of the season. He had said he wanted to play, but Willingham said the injury is “just a severe deal” and that Harris is unlikely to play football again in any capacity.
— DT Senio Kelemete, who had arthroscopic knee surgery two weeks ago, has returned to practice and could be back this week but more likely for the Apple Cup.
—- CB Mesphin Forrester, who has missed the last two games with a knee injury, should be back this week.
— WR Jordan Polk, who suffered a concussion against ASU, is still uncertain after not practicing Tuesday.
— CB Vonzell McDowell, who suffered an elbow injury against ASU, should be back this week.
— The game will also be the final home contest for Willingham who said “I’ll have a lot of different thoughts. I don’t know what all of them will be but it will be emotional for me, also.”
— Willingham praised the season of D’Andre Goodwin, who has five or more catches in all but one game this season, the Arizona game when he saw just one play due to injury. “He’s having a solid year, a good strong year,” he said. One down note is that he has just one TD. Willingham said Goodwin simply has gotten a lot of plays that haven’t lent themselves to going all the way and that UW has had obvious red zone troubles.
— Willingham talked a little about the senior class and said he was glad many of them say they had a good experience considering everything but said that “at the same time, I know all of us would like to have had more wins.”
