Locker likely done for year

UW quarterback Jake Locker won’t recover in time to play in the Apple Cup and is likely done for the year despite having what was termed as successful surgery on Friday to remove a plate and some other hardware from his broken thumb.
A week ago, UW coach Tyrone Willingham hadn’t ruled Locker out for a return this year.
But Monday, he said a definitive no to Locker returning this week and said it’s unlikely he will play against Cal Dec. 6.
“It’s probably not the right move to make right now,” Willingham said.
He also said that CB Matt Mosley, who suffered a knee injury Saturday, is likely out for the Apple Cup, as well.
G Ryan Tolar, who missed some of the UCLA game with a shoulder injury, should be fine.
Willingham said he would need to wait until Tuesday’s practice to get a better feel for some of the other injured players.
