Fans tuned in to Apple Cup

While it obviously didn’t carry the import of a lot of other Apple Cups, fans still tuned in to watch.
Fox Sports Net just sent out a release saying that the game “notched the highest rating for a televised game this season for both Washington and Washington State, as it earned an 11.5 overall rating. The game peaked at 14.6 as the two teams battled during the second overtime. A replay of the game garnered a 1.3 rating, which results in an aggregate rating of 12.8 for the day.”
The release continues to say that “the Apple Cup rating on FSN is well above both teams’ average thus far this season on the network. The Cougars have averaged a 2.8 overall rating during seven games broadcast by FSN this season, while the Huskies have averaged a 5.7 rating over six games broadcast by the network. Both schools recorded their highest rated games of the season on August 30th as the Cougars notched a 3.6 rating against Oklahoma State and the Huskies recorded an 8.0 overall rating against the Oregon Ducks.”
The release finishes to say that “FSN dedicated over 10 hours of programming to the Apple Cup on Saturday, and sustained a significant audience throughout the day. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. FSN averaged a 4.7 rating.”
