Sarkisian hits recruiting trail early

Steve Sarkisian said he planned to get out on the recruiting trail as quickly as possible, and he did just that today.
Roughly two hours after his press conference, he traveled to the east side to visit coaches at Skyline and Bellevue, each teams coming off winning state titles last week
“He came by and introduced himself and we just talked for a little while,” said Skyline coach Mat Taylor, who had never before met Sarkisian. “I just got the impression he wants to get out there and hit the ground running. It was nice he came by. I was very, very impressed that it was about two hours after his press conference and he was out at Skyline. …. It was really cool for our kids that he felt it was important to (visit Skyline) that soon after he got hired.”
Among Skyline’s prospects in the coming years are senior WR Gino Simone, junior QB Jake Heaps and sophomore WR Kasen Williams.
Here’s the official NCAA recruiting calendar for the rest of the season. As you can see, from now until Dec. 20 is a contact period but from Dec. 21 to Jan. 4 is a dead period.
