Nothing official yet on coaching moves

Steve Sarkisian just met reporters here and said he had nothing official to report yet on any possible coaching moves with the existing staff.
He said he had met with all of the coaches and that some decisions have been made but he would wait until next week to make any official announcements.
“Some guys have been released from their duty but I’m not ready to touch on that yet,” he said.
Sarkisian also said he has not made any decisions about keeping anyone from the current staff.
“I have not,” he said. “Some guys are being evaluated.”
I talked with offensive coordinator Tim Lappano who said he has been told he will not be retained. KJR-AM has reported that offensive line coach Mike Denbrock will not be retained. And Dawgman.com has reported that the only coaches likely to be back are defensive line coach Randy Hart and linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator Chris Tormey.
Sarkisian acknowledged that after the honeymoon of yesterday, meeting with some coaches and telling them they will not be retained was more of the harsh reality of the job.
“This is the part of this business that’s no fun,” he said. “But it is reallity.”
As for hiring any new coaches, he said “we’re close on a couple guys, we’ve just got to get the deals done.”
Sarkisian also said he will be in Seattle until Friday, when he will return to LA to work at USC when it practices on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He said he will then return to Seattle Sunday night or Monday morning to return to work for UW.
Sarkisian noted that there will be a number of recruits making visits to USC this weekend but said he won’t be involved in any of that.
