Coaches coming?

I’m at the UW basketball game where one knowledgable person told me that “five or six” assistant football coaches are expected to be in the offices tomorrow.
That’s the latest confirmation that new coach Steve Sarkisian has made some hires and gotten some coaches in line to begin work this week.
It’s possible, however, that there will be no official announcement until Tuesday.
As for who they are, there have been multiple confirmed reports of three hires on the defensive side — Johnny Nansen as DL coach, Charlie Camp as LB coach and Demetrice Martin as secondary coach.
The big question on defense remains the coordinator spot where USC secondary coach Rocky Seto is mulling an offer. No word has leaked yet on what he will do.
Dawgman.com has also reported that Cal OL coach Jim Michalczik is in line to be the new OL coach. That report is further reinforced by the word I have gotten from a source close to the situation that Rick Mallory, reported by FootballScoop.com to have been contacted, has in fact not been contacted for the job.
Scott Wolf of the Los Angeles Daily News also reports that Mallory may be a candidate and also mentions former UW OL coach Brent Myers as another possibility.
Michalczik may fill one offensive spot and several sources and other reports have indicated that USC graduate assistant Yogi Roth will take over as QB coach.
It’s also known that there is one member of the old staff still working — Chris Tormey — who has been handling some recruiting duties this week.
There should be some clarity to all of this in the next few days.
