Defensive coordinator update

Here’s a new name to add to the list of candidates for UW’s vacant defensive coordinator position — UCLA LB coach Chuck Bullough.
The LA Daily News reports that Bullough is interested in coming to Seattle, and obviously with his time in Los Angeles he would be on the radar of Steve Sarkisian.
Bullough is one of the UCLA coaches whom former Bruin DC DeWayne Walker would have brought with him to Seattle last year had he accepted a job then as Washington’s defensive coordinator.
Here’s Bullough’s bio and you can see he is also the team’s linebackers coach, a position that also remains open on the staff.
Two other sources also said today that Nevada defensive coordinator Nigel Burton, a former Husky player, remains interested in the job. How much of a candidate he is in the minds of Sarkisian is unclear.
And another source said Houston defensive coordinantor John Skladany has been contacted about the job but that it’s uncertain his level of interest. He just concluded his first year at Houston and has been at three schools in three years and is reported pretty happy where he is.
One coach who it apparently won’t be is former Utah State head coach Brent Guy, reportedly headed to Louisville. Guy had been reported to potentially in the mix.
